**Security experience required**

The Driver transports Senior Administration officials and Physicians to and from VCUHS and outreach facilities/hospitals/locations in a comfortable, safe and efficient manner. The Driver is responsible for the appearance and proper maintenance of the executive fleet of vehicles either directly or indirectly through third party service companies. The incumbent in this position is expected to maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively, and make decisions under limited supervision. May also provides security officer services to VCUHS on a limited basis, by courteously assisting staff, visitors and patients; enforcing rules and regulations of the hospitals; projecting a positive image; and promoting a safe healthcare environment.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Valid Virginia Driver's License and acceptable driving record that reflects safe and lawful motor vehicle operation

Experience REQUIRED:
Two (2) years of previous experience as a chauffeur or driver
Previous knowledge of security and/or law enforcement measures and techniques at a level generally acquired during 6 to 12 months of on-the-job training and orientation in such techniques or college curriculum in Administration of Justice

Experience PREFERRED:
One (1) year of security, public safety or law enforcement work experience

Education/training REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Education/training PREFERRED:
Associates Degree in Criminal Justice or related field

Independent action(s) required:
Determines if the vehicle is safe to operate.
Determines if weather conditions make it unsafe to drive.
Determines the type of vehicle needed.

Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A

Additional position requirements:
Must be flexible to work weekends when needed.
May be required to work 12-hour days.
Must be able to change work hours and days off on a last minute notice.
Will perform work as a Security Officer as assigned when not performing services as a Driver
