VCU Medical Center is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes
- Prepare patients for exams, including explaining procedures and positioning them correctly
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of ultrasound technology and its applications
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient exams and results
- Two years of experience in a relevant field, preferably in ultrasound technology
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound principles and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience with liver and renal Doppler exams, as well as pediatric ultrasound
- Knowledge of VCU Health's certification requirements and procedures
