The William & Mary School of Education invites applications for an Assistant/Associate clinical visiting professor in counselor education to start in the Fall 2024 semester. This is a three-year, full-time, twelve-month position whose primary responsibility will be teaching, advising, and supporting field placement and site development for the clinical mental health program. We seek an individual to join our collaborative and forward-looking program faculty and a university committed to equity and inclusion through teaching, research, and service.

The clinical assistant professor position is part of the CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program, housed within the School Psychology and Counselor Education Department. The Counseling Program includes concentrations in Clinical Mental Health, Addictions, Couples, Marriage and Family, Military and Veterans, and School Counseling. The department also offers a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. In addition to the on-campus program, the online campus has concentrations in Clinical Mental Health, Military & Veterans, and School Counseling.

Counselor Education Program Mission Statement

The Counselor Education Program at William & Mary prepares professional counselors and counselor educators who represent diverse identities, serve local, national, and global communities, advocate for social justice and antiracist policies, and demonstrate exemplary practices.

Responsibilities

The position requires the following responsibilities:

* Teach courses in the graduate program in the Master's in Counseling Program. This may include in-person, hybrid, and online formats across 12 months.
* Provide university-level supervision to students in practicum and internship.
* Advise and mentor students.
* Contribute to making the School of Education and University a safe, equitable, and socially just space for students, faculty, and staff.
* Engage in program development, curriculum reviews, and assessment of student learning.
* Support program coordination and administration (e.g., recruitment, admissions, programming).
* Develop and collaborate with fieldwork sites to support practicum and internship students and site supervisors.
* Attend program, department, and School of Education meetings.
* Support departmental projects and accreditation efforts.
* Provide service and expertise to the department, the School of Education, and the University
