Under the direction of a Cardiologist, performs diagnostic ultrasonic procedures for evaluation as prescribed by a physician. Requires knowledge and use of highly specialized equipment.

This posting represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and duties. It should be understood, therefore, that employees may be asked to perform job-related duties beyond those explicitly described above.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Completed requirements as a Cardiac Sonographer from accredited program.
* Must be eligible to sit for Registered Cardiac Sonographer designation from national accreditation board.
* Completed Cardiac Sonographer program and eligible for Registry certification.
* Registered Cardiac Sonographer in an established hospital non-invasive cardiac testing unit, preferred.

LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

* Registered Cardiac Sonographer within one year of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

* Works in a patient care setting with occasional exposure to unpleasant patient care tasks.
* Daily interaction with family members and staff. Extensive walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and the like may be necessary.
* Occasional interaction with disgruntled/unsatisfied patients and families.
* Outside travel to satellite locations as necessary.
