Job Description:

This position obtains contracting information from the Payer Contracting Department after a contract has been negotiated which enables them to monitor, organize, and analyze the reimbursement that comes into Intermountain. The Contract Coordinator is responsible to keep up to date with contract changes and current contract information. This position works closely with the Contract Coordination Manager, Senior Analysts, Payer Contracting and facility Patient Account Service Departments as a liaison in problem solving and troubleshooting in regards to under and over payments.

Monday-Friday-Mainly remote-reserve the option to be in person from time to time.

Job Essentials

1. Ensures that reimbursement from Third-Party payers is accurate based on appropriate contractual terms and conditions.

2. Evaluates and assures compliance with Patient Account Services operational policies and procedures needed to ensure data integrity.

3. Works contract monitoring reports for all facilities. Indentifies incorrect payments and provides support in obtaining proper reimbursement from the Third-Party Payer.

4. Responds to Third-Party Payers inquiries in regards to complaints, questions and issues for both new and existing contracts.

5. Provides support in conducting periodic reconciliations between Third-Party Payers and Intermountain Healthcare.

6. Works with Third-Party Payers and Patient Account Service departments to identify and solve billing / explanations of payment (EOP) problems, complaints or questions.

7. Acts with minimal supervision while making many complex decisions daily within the scope of this position.

8. Effectively follows through and communicate critical statistics. Has routine access to highly confidential data pertaining to patients, employees, and financial and/or legal matters so breaches of contract language, inaccurate communication of information, or other types of poor performance could be both embarrassing and monetarily costly to the employer.

9. Initiates, researches and analyzes special projects and reports as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree or two years equivalent work experience. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Three years of experience in the health care industry, health claims billing, or Third Party contacts.

Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.

Experience organizing and analyzing data.

* and -

Experience making complex decisions while working with minimal supervision.

Experience in a rapidly changing, customer focused environment.

Demonstrated ability to follow through and complete projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Medical billing experience.

Working knowledge of Intermountain's accounts receivable applications.

Physical Requirements:
