Minimum Qualifications

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Outpatient Pharmacy

(List summary of duties and responsibilities):
1. Fill prescriptions, resolve discrepancies in patient therapy.
2. Ensures that weekly controlled drug inventory is done.
3. Scheduling for opening and closing the OPD pharmacy.
4. Oversees filling of controlled drug prescriptions.
5. Oversees the maintenance of inventory in the WAMB/EPIC
6. Oversees robotic system.
7. Prepares daily schedule for lunch and break coverage with assistance from Assistant Coordinating Manager.
8. Oversees checking and reporting of outdated drugs.
9. Documents interventions, adverse drug reactions, and medication errors.
10. Supervises the operation of the outpatient pharmacy.

1 1. Coordinates new pharmacy staff orientation.
12. Answers the telephone, identifying self and department.
13. Directs calls to appropriate personnel.
14. Participates in patient care counseling activities
15. Answers requests at the pharmacy window.
16. Oversees cleanliness of the pharmacy area and keep equipment clean, neat, and well-organized.
17. Ensures staff compliance with regulatory agency and hospital rules and regulations.
18. Oversees day to day operations or applications within their scope of responsibilities.
19. Supervises and lead the provision of safe, timely, efficient, equitable, effective and patient-centered pharmacy services.
20. Hold staff accountable to standards of the department.

21 , Serves as the liaison to coordinate compliance and regulatory issues for areas of responsibility.
22. Supports pharmacy workflows and practice expectations through operational planning.
23. Identify opportunities to redesign system of oversight to maximize performance (i.e.: labor and operational efficiency).
24. Manage current electronic health record (EHR), technology and automation for optimum value.
25. Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with services. Resolves customer complaints, helps respond to customers' requests in a timely manner and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Models and shares customer service best practices.

Qualifications:

Maintain current New York State pharmacy license and registration.

Hospital experienced preferred, but not required.

BS PharmD Pharmacy Degree
