Sparrow Company, an executive search and staffing firm, has an immediate opportunity for a Project Scheduler in Houston, TX. This is a long term temporary opportunity.

Job Summary

Provide project scheduling and planning services to a broad portfolio of projects ranging from highly standardized/small scale assets (valued around $100k- $500k) to complex and unique facilities with asset values in the order of $500k and above.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Safety
    Maintain a safe workplace and strive for zero occupational injuries, accidents and environmental incidences.

Project Scheduling

  • In close cooperation with the project managers: develop, deliver and maintain project schedules aligned with the execution scope and needs to meet project commitments in terms of cost and schedule.
  • Motivated to help achieve a project planning team capable of managing internal projects, including EPCs, both within the office and construction site.
  • Interface with procurement, expediting, engineering, project management, and quality to ensure order requirements (primarly milestone dates and final delivery dates) are understood and complied with by the supplier.
  • Use planning systems to provide reliable and consistent reporting to ensure that we can meet the project and regional project portfolio and business requirements.
  • Review and analyze lead times from suppliers and adjust these to include transportation times.
  • Proactively analyze schedule changes and communicate those to the project teams.
  • Prepare or contribute to preparation of frequent reports detailing supplier's progress, problems encountered and solutions to maintain

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in a technical or commercial discipline preferred
  • Minimum 3 years project planning experience in an industrial engineering or manufacturing environment
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant industry
  • Sound knowledge, proven skills and competencies in application of project planning principles, methodologies and tools
  • Ability to establish internal relationships with key individuals in all teams
  • Must be able to work in a project and team setting
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with excellent inter-personal skills required
