Position Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day billing functions of the facility in accordance with current acceptable cost reimbursement principles relating to health care as directed by the Administrative Director or Physicians.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Charge Processing -Ensuring all billing documents are accurately processed in a timely manner
• Claims Reconciliation- Resolve all electronic claims rejections and verify carrier receipt
• Denial Management- Track and trend denials which include zero payments and incorrect payments
• Charges Audits- Perform audit during charge entry and weekly
• Patient Follow-up- Perform pre-collection activities
• Patient Billing Inquiries- Assist patient with understanding their benefit and out-of-pocket responsibility
• Insurance Carrier File Maintenance- Enter and update insurance codes in Allscripts PM
• Medical Records Requests- Process requests for records from insurance plans
• Weekly Updates- Give weekly updates on billing and denial trends
• Physician and Staff Billing Inquiries- Research and answer all billing questions
