Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and the 340B Program Coordinator the Revenue Specialist ensures accuracy of billing and revenue for medication charges, and supports the 340B program with compliance audits and reporting.

Duties include, but are not limited to, accurately maintaining the database of pharmacy billing codes in the electronic health record, auditing charges, responding to inquiries and the correction of patient bills. This role supports the 340B Program by maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the 340B program, regulatory issues concerning 340B, eligible locations, contract pharmacy network, and procedures related to 340B purchasing processes. This position performs and documents routine audits for the 340B program compliance across the organization. This position will work within various software programs to maintain the integrity and compliance of the 340B Program. This role includes routine collaboration with the 340B team and stakeholders to ensure compliance, as well as perform specialized projects and outside audits as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:

* Current California Pharmacy Technician License is required upon hire.


* Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) Cert required within one year of hire.



Knowledge:

* One (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an acute care hospital pharmacy or Home Care Pharmacy strongly preferred.


* Knowledge of medications and uses.


* Experience with pharmacy information systems and payer coding is preferred.


* Successful completion of Apexus 340 B University On Demand Program modules required or completion within 6 months of hire.


* Successful completion of Apexus Advanced 340B Operations Certificate preferred.



Skills:

* Strong computer skills, specifically Excel and Word programs


* Strong communication skills both oral and written


* Ability to work under minimal supervision


* Basic mechanical aptitude skill, basic math competency


* Must have excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
