General Summary

A kitchen mechanic maintenance technician performs general maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment and associated systems. This requires practical skills and knowledge (not proficiency) in such trades as: kitchen equipment, plumbing, HVAC and electrical work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* General Maintenance and repairs of kitchen equipment, to maintain, repair and install food service (kitchen) related equipment. Systems to include all aspects of plumbing, compressed gas systems, pumps, pneumatic, compressors, blowers, fans and electrical motors.
* Knowledge in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and instruction manuals
* Perform preventative maintenance per the manufacture's recommendation and other directives assigned.
* HVAC Installs, services and repairs environmental-control systems; utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification desired.
* Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces, assist others as part of the maintenance team as required and perform other duties assigned according to personal qualifications.
* Ability to Train, Develop and Mentor the needs of junior employee's.

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

* Performs most complex and unusual tasks of the craft without supervision.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of computer software programs to include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required.
* Experience with a Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS) highly desired.
* High School Graduate, technical or trade school certificates in related field desired.

Work Environment

* Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
* Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
* Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire.
