ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-

* Assist with the preparation of Federal tax returns, state income tax returns and state income tax apportionment
* Provide support on Puerto Rico financial report audit, quarterly estimated tax payments for both income tax and property tax
* Assist with gathering documents and supports on state and local tax audits including but not limited to income tax, sales and use tax and property tax.
* Provide month-end support including journal entry preparation
* Prepare and file state annual reports and business tax returns.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES-

JOB REQUIREMENTS-

* Good organizational skills needed to manage strict filings deadlines and be able to multi-task
* Basic tax compliance experience and/or strong accounting background
* Proficient knowledge of MS applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
* Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
* AbiIity to communicate professionally at all levels within and outside of the organization
* Critical thinking skills in order to analyze information and data
* Must be hard-working, a self-starter, performance-oriented and able to meet the demands of a diverse business environment in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-

* Minimum of 2 years of experience working in tax, including Big 4 experience
* BA/BS in Accounting or equivalent, CPA preferred but not required
* Experience with sales and use tax
* Experience with state income tax apportionment factor
* Experience with tax research software
