Pay Range: $47.71/hr - $62.59/hr - $77.47/hr *Please note, the highest starting rate as a new hire is $62.59/hr, based on applicable experience POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of#Health Information Management#plans, directs, and manages all functions of the#Health Information Management (HIM)#Department in accordance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations standards, Title 22, Federal Regulations for Prospective Payment System, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, and Organizational Policies and Procedures.# Major functions of the#HIM Department, which are overseen by the Director, include, coding and compliance, data quality, medical transcription, release of information and physician chart completion.##They have#overall responsibility for the operational, quality, human resource, and financial management of these functions. They coordinate the services through leadership and collaboration with colleagues throughout the Medical Center. The Director ##Participates in the development and management of department budgets and productivity targets. ##Manages human resources utilization, promotes employee engagement, supports staff development, and utilizes the progressive discipline process when appropriate. ##Leads employees, supports organizational goals and decisions, implements necessary changes, and participates in strategic planning for service needs and resource utilization. ##Maintains and promotes quality service and best practice. Participates in quality improvement processes and assures implementation of regulatory standards. ##Identifies and recommends departmental applications# and program upgrades to achieve departmental efficiencies and the organization#s strategic initiatives. ##In collaboration with the Privacy and Security Officers, monitors, identifies, recommends and implements privacy and security measures. ##Maintains working knowledge and assures implementation of regulatory standards (e.g. JCAHO, HIPPA, Title 22, OSHA, OSHPD and other state and federal agencies).# Assures readiness for surveys, planned or unplanned, and coordinates any follow-up activities for area of responsibility. ##Coordinates with the appropriate Supervisor(s) the hire process and coordinates orientation, work schedule, training and evaluation according to Enloe#s policies and procedures. ##Monitors staff compliance and productivity through quality improvement activities. ##Enforces suspension policy for delinquent medical records ##Attends meetings, prepares reports, analyzes and provides recommendations in a timely and accurate manner. EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Three#years direct administrative and management experience in an acute care hospital.#(Experience must be current and within the last three years.) Active membership in AHIMA Desired: Bachelor#s degree LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Minimum: American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES: Must demonstrate leadership ability.# Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements to include JCAHO standards, Title 22 regulations, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and Federal Regulations for Prospective Payment System.# Must have experience with computers and coding software; capable of using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Microsoft Office Suite) computer skills for a variety of support functions.# Must have knowledge of and a demonstrated ability in financial management and reporting, quality improvement processes, and human resource management.# Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.# Must have the ability to motivate, delegate, analyze information and problem solve.##
