BUSINESS SERVICES SPECIALIST (Building Codes): Records billings and payments in licensing and taxation receivable system; balances and reconciles assigned accounts by comparing and analyzing appropriate reports; conducts daily count of deposits; verifies deposit for accuracy; and verifies account numbers and codes for monies entered into the system. Assists customers and County departments with questions such as licensing processes and fees and conducts upfront and multi-year audits to verify businesses are reporting the correct gross amounts.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

*    Associates degree and one (1) year of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
*    Accreditation of Business License (ABL) within three (3) years of hire
*    Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
*    Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
*    Notary Public is preferredAll applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation. Beaufort County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
