Program Assistant Caregiver Adult Day

Full time

Bilingual Required: English / Hindi

Rate: $15 Hourly

Would you like to work in a rewarding environment with fantastic co-workers? This position is for you You can make a difference by providing care to the individuals we serve in our community-based Day Program.

* Provide assistance in the daily care of health impaired older adults or individuals in our care with brain injuries, intellectual/ developmental disabilities, emotional or behavioral disability or mental diagnosis.
* Assist with the development and implementation of individual and group activity programs, and responsible for the care, safety, security, and social/recreation activities for the individuals receiving support.
* Assist individuals receiving care with daily living, including personal hygiene, bathing, bathroom assistance, grooming, preparing meals, and medication administration.
* Provide guidance with social skills, advocacy and self-esteem and teach strategies to live as independently as possible.
* Transport to medical appointments, errands, shopping or activities in the community.

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or its equivalent and must be 18 years of age
* Minimum one year experience in providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably with older adults
* Physical in the past 12 months and annual TB test
* Valid driver's license, access to reliable vehicle with current registration, and insurance
* Proficient in vital signs, weights, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and independent ADLs
* Competence in CPR and First Aid
* Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills to manage relationships
* A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach
