Medcor is looking to hire an LPN to be a Worksite Health Technician in our occupational health clinic setting in Harvard, IL. This clinic will operate 10 AM - 7 PM, Monday through Friday, no weekends. This is a new clinic with a projected opening date of October 1, 2024.
The positions responsibilities include collaborative work with the medical and operational leadership at Medcor, local medical providers, client staff, with key contacts within the clients corporate structure. The day-to-day role of the Worksite Health Technician includes patient care, ongoing workers compensation case management, Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation, and treatment plan monitoring. This position will work closely with outside medical providers.
In this position, you will provide first aid care and treatment by triaging an employee after an injury following our step-by-step care protocols, and supporting the employees with wellness, education and teaching. You will also be responsible for the daily operations of the clinic, including ordering supplies and following compliance processes. You will work collaboratively with the employers Safety Team and Human Resources, as well as working with medical providers at off-site offices such as the urgent care and hospitals. You will be working independently, with support available by the operations manager and other Medcor staff remotely.
A typical day in the life of a Worksite Health Nurse
* Participate in daily operations at Medcors on-site clinic
* Provide superior customer service to Medcors client and employees
* Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcors Evidence Based Medicine protocols, known as the Medcor Care Protocols (MCPs)
* Build and maintain internal team relationships
* Support for onsite employee health and wellness efforts
* Pre-employment and post-offer screenings
* Documentation of care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
* Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)
* Case Management
* Medical charting
* OSHA record-keeping
* General administrative duties
* Collaborate with client professionals in health, safety and environmental practices
* Collaborate with client human resources and benefits professionals on clinic issues
You Must
* Be able to work independently and have good time management and organizational skills.
* Have valid licensure for the position in which you are applying and current CPR/BLS certification
* Have strong computer and other technology skills (navigate cell phones, texting, fax machines, etc), as well as familiarity with EMR software
* Be strong enough to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
* Possess excellent verbal / written communication skills
* Have a positive and outgoing personality
* Be willing to go above and beyond just because thats who you are
* Be passionate about people and giving them the best care humanly possible
* Be able to have fun

* You have relevant occupational health experience
