Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Under the supervision and direction of the Director of the Quality Management (QM) Division, assists in the effective administration and completion of the Clinical Chart Review activities, via supervision of the daily concurrent and retrospective reviews conducted by the QM Chart Reviewers. The goals of the daily concurrent and/or retrospective chart reviews include the identification of documentation gaps, and collaboration with the clinical team for timely feedback and timely resolution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Supervises and coordinates QM Chart Review Activities, inclusive of assignments, development of performance measures, data collection worksheets /databases, data analysis & productivity tracking.

§ Generates Chart Documentation Compliance Report by Service.

§ Provides PI assistance/guidance to the Chief of Service, Department Head & Committee Chairperson.

§ Assists in the development of Departmental PI Plans and Annual PI Assessments.

§ Reviews monthly departmental and committee minutes identifying any issues, trends/patterns, and opportunities for improvement, and ensures issues are appropriately referred for follow-up and resolution.

§ Identifies the need for Focus Surveys, and assists in the development of survey tools.

§ Conducts Focus Surveys as indicated, analyses, and submits reports inclusive of recommendations.

§ Participates in committee and departmental PI meetings as assigned.

§ Provides statistical data analysis and assists with the preparation of the report to the Quality Assurance Committee of the Board of Directors.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs/Quality Management.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or an approved systems-related program; and,
2. Six years of full-time, paid experience in business, government, hospital, educational institution or a non-profit organization in the development, analysis and implementation of systems and subsystems, manual and computer application, of which two years must have been in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity; or,
3. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in the programs in (1); and,
4. Five years of full-time, paid experience as indicated in (2), with one year required at the supervisory, administrative or consultative level; or,
5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
