Responsibilities
Review, analyze and coordinate charge master activities.
* Utilize clinical and coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant charge items and to recognize and resolve billing inconsistencies.
* Collaborate with managed care department to code billable items for reimbursement. Collaborate with appropriate staff to secure information for billable items.
* Analyze content of reports and software edits to facilitate revisions with appropriate departments.
* Coordinate projects and audits to improve processes related to revenue cycle, efficiency of charging and billing, and collection efforts.
* Educate case management staff and other departments regarding payer changes and denial/appeal process.
Requirements
Education:
* High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
* Minimum Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Additional Preferences
The perfect person will know Cardiology and Coding and have excellent problem solving skills and multi-tasking skills.
This is a new position for the Cardiology department and the right person will be wise about coding and know how to examine charges for accuracy.
Professions that would work well for this role:
* Rad Tech's
* Insurance Biller/Coder
* Someone with knowledge in: Cardiac Rehab, Echo, EKG, Stress Testing, Cath Lab, EP
The right person with be an excellent Sleuth, knowing what to look at when examining charts and comparing against charges and physician dictation, as well as, knowing where to go to get the right information they need.
