Purpose

To assist in the operation of the university's Bulk Mail by processing all mail and special projects for the university.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for hand work mailings, special projects.
  • Prepares all production work which includes moving material skids, postal containers, or any other items necessary for the preparation and production of mailing projects.
  • Operates various specialized equipment, address software, inserters, ink jet addressing for the purpose of processing large or bulk mailings.
  • Prepares and processes necessary paperwork related to mail services to include extra documentation for special projects, charges accounts for postage, and records of daily postage expenditures.
  • Records data of postal projects in log using computer, confirming address counts, materials projects, verifying other materials for mailing projects.
  • Aid other units as needed. Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Diploma (High school) or GED

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Mail Design Professional (MDP) Certification - National Postal Forum

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).
