The undergraduate Biomedical Sciences Program (BMD) in the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Health Professions is seeking to fill two (2) open tenure-track faculty positions. These are 12-month, full-time appointments at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
The successful candidate will provide signature, cutting-edge instruction in the biomedical sciences to undergraduate students in the BMD major in the areas of anatomy, genetics, cell biology, or microbiology, in addition to participating in other BMD courses as needed. They will also develop scholarly activities in biomedical sciences disciplines, as well as participate in service to the program, department, and school. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of experience in delivering quality instruction in anatomy, genetics, cell biology, or microbiology, and will be highly motivated to work in a collaborative environment building signature instructional and research activities for more than 700 pre-professional undergraduates (uab.edu/bmd).
Required Qualifications
Candidates for consideration will have a Ph.D., or other terminal degrees, in a discipline area related to biomedical sciences.
Preferred Qualifications
Consideration will be given to candidates with a teaching portfolio and experience that align with the vision and mission of the program, department, and school.
