Hours Monday through Friday 7am to 4pm. No weekends

Class A Commercial Driver - Construction and Industrial Supplies

SouthernCarlson, a national distributor of Fastening, Industrial and Concrete supplies, is seeking a Class A Commercial Driver in our Phoenix branch. You will be doing deliveries to construction sites, warehouses, and other buildings/facilities to our customers.

We are looking for someone who has Class A CDL license. This driver role you will be driving Non-CDL trucks for deliveries on a daily basis, but will be a back up driver for CDL trucks on as needed basis.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Perform routine inspection of vehicle and merchandise to ensure road safety.
  • Plan route to and from customers businesses and adjust for traffic and/or construction.
  • Ensure that daily manifests are complete and accurate.
  • Safely transport merchandise to customers in a timely, safe, and courteous manner.
  • Load truck with daily merchandise to be delivered as well as unload merchandise for customer.
  • Pull orders to match manifest.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatching and/or customers to resolve any delivery issues.
  • Maintain a neat appearance consistent with the construction industry

Qualifications
  • Experience with flat bed, air brake, and manual transmission
  • Registered with the drug and alcohol clearinghouse
  • Current DOT Med Card
  • Clean Drug Test
  • Must have a clean DMV report
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must have a driving record in Good Standing
  • Valid Class A license - Operate vehicle with GVW over 26,000 lbs
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Diligent attention to safety and detail
