Overview

The Vice President of Clinical Services is responsible for the overall direction of hospice clinical services, within an assigned Region, with primary focus in the areas of IDG, Certification/ Recertification, LOS, Documentation, Quality Service Delivery, and Clinical Mentorship of IDG Team Members. The Vice President of Clinical Services establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy. Provides the leadership necessary to maintain a motivated, productive, and competent clinical teams, through open communication and delegation of responsibilities and authority, guide and direct subordinate leaders and clinical staff in their professional development.

Responsibilities

Responsible for executing strategies through a decentralized management structure to meet or exceed annual goals and objectives in five areas:

1. Growth, ADC, Revenue2. Compliance, Clinical Operations and Quality Assurance3. Site Operations and Profitability4. Patient/Family Satisfaction5. Staff Management

6. Provides Clinical Oversight to ensure all clinical practices are followed according to company standards.

Quality Improvement1. Participates in the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Program.2. Adheres to policies, procedures and standard operating procedures.3. Participates in hospice in-service training.

4. Provides technical/onsite support during agency survey process.

5. Participates in Agency IDG meetings and provides technical/mentor support.

6. Provides mentoring toward clinical management related to pain and symptom management.

Professional development1. Engages in ongoing self-development plan to build personal skills, organizational knowledge and enhance knowledge of the industry.2. Identifies and address skill and/or knowledge gaps to fulfill job responsibilities.3. Seeks opportunities to network with colleagues, share experiences, willingness to provide direct support, solicit feedback and exchange ideas.4. Develops and achieves professional growth goals and objectives and reviews with supervisor for all IDG team members to include: nurses, CNAs, social workers, chaplains, and Hospice Medical Directors.

All duties/responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

1. Registered Nurse, within the Assigned Region, with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the Region.

2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.

3. A minimum of three years of management experience in a hospice.

4. Experience with managing multi-site/ multi-state programs is desired.

5. Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.

6. Demonstrate leadership skills and the proven ability to lead, motivate and organize teams

7. Experience and skill related to HCHB

8. Extensive experience in hospice clinical operations

9. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and developmen

10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

11. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or Organization requirements and is in good working order.

12. Knowledge of general business management, governmental regulations, CMS requirements, and best-practice
