SUMMARY:

The Director of Assessment is responsible for the overall development, maintenance, and management of the School of Pharmacy Assessment Plan and calendar. This position is responsible for developing and implementing all assessment related activities for the School.

KEY PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:
  1. Coordinate all aspects of the SUSOP Assessment Program.
  2. Assure that the SUSOP Assessment Plan is executed according to the assessment calendar to support all required activity to ensure ongoing accreditation.
  3. Coordinate SUSOP assessment reports to the University.
  4. Support University level assessment data requests as needed.
  5. Develop/recommend/implement assigned elements of the South University and School of Pharmacy Strategic Plans as requested.
  6. Support assessment data requests for SUSOP standing committees as needed.
  7. Actively participate in Institutional Effectiveness Planning and Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).
  8. Assist the Dean or designee in the preparation of accreditation data and reports as needed.
  9. Represent the University, School and/or Dean at local, regional or national events or conferences as needed.
  10. Serve as primary academic advisor and mentor for pharmacy students displaying poor academic performance at any point in the curriculum
  11. Serve as coordinator and/or instructor for courses in the School of Pharmacy as assigned, with reduced teaching expectations due to the focus of the position


REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide authorship and editorial input to support accreditation submissions as requested.
  • Provide ad hoc reports to the faculty and/or administration of the School, University, and corporate administration as requested.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of 5 years of academic experience with academic operations leadership experience in a university setting preferred.
  • Terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Teaching experience in a university environment.
  • Proficient with the use of standard office applications on personal computers.
  • Proficient use of statistical software.
  • Ability to read, understand, interpret and implement accreditation criteria.
  • Ability to effectively present information to faculty, academic and campus leaders, corporate leaders, and external stakeholders or groups.
