Summary

* This position monitors heart rhythm pattern of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances. Observes cardiac monitors, recognizes, reports and documents rhythm changes. Required to perform ECG`s as a night shift Monitor Tech.
* This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.

Duties

* Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current pattern and prior variances. Sets alarms according to guidelines and patient status.
* Observes screen of cardiac monitor and listens for alarm to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm.
* Informs RN of change in rhythm and documents notification.
* Enters patient data into central database and logs all patients.
* Documents monitor patterns every six hours on all monitored patients.
* Performs ECG`s on the night shift as needed.
* Organizes and restocks supplies.
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. High School Diploma and successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Class within initial training period required.
