Summer Social Emotional Learning Intervention Specialist

City of Dubuque AmeriCorps Members implement key skill-building program to have the following impacts: Youth experience programs promoting healthy lifestyles resulting in decreased youth risk-related behaviors. Youth development skills to build meaningful and healthy relationships while experiencing inclusion and belonging. Member Duties : Design and deliver a comprehensive and engaging social-emotional learning curriculum for students during the summer program.-Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive atmosphere where students feel comfortable exploring and expressing their emotions.-Conduct individual and small-group SEL sessions with student caseload at least two times per week to address students' social-emotional needs, concerns, and challenges.-Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on students' progress and recommendations for continued support at home.-Assess and track students' social-emotional development and progress through observation, DESSA assessments, and feedback.-Coordinate guest speakers, workshops, and experiential learning opportunities to enrich the after-school program.-Participate in A-DRT training(s) to ensure the member has knowledge and ability to respond to disasters.
