Job Description

AECOM is currently in search of an Section 3- Inspector Trainee to join our Program and Project Management team at our New York office. We are seeking an individual who is eager to learn, hardworking, possesses a positive attitude, is punctual, and takes responsibility. This position requires onsite presence. In this entry-level role, attention to detail and a willingness to learn are key qualities for success. By following instructions and established guidelines for job tasks, you'll be able to effectively operate under close supervision.

This Inspector Trainee role will require daily inspections of roof installation, masonry restoration, roof railing installation, doors, hatches and windows on building up to 23 stories. These inspections will be quality assurance inspections that use the approved project documentation. Training will be provided if selected. Additional safety and security inspections will be conducted on a daily basis. The Inspector selected for this role will have to take pictures, communicate through email, and complete daily reports.

This role will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

+ Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

+ Works under immediate supervision.

+ Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.

+ Performs daily field inspections of roofing and masonry work.

+ Maintains inspection records.

+ Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.

+ Tracks quality assurance progress.

+ Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.

+ Entry-level position, previous experience is preferred, not required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

+ HS or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

+ Per contract- Must live in low incoming housing in NYC.

+ Occasionally ascend/descend up to 14 stories of stairs when the elevators are out of service to access the roof to perform inspection duties.

+ Frequently move about indoor and outdoor environments with variable environmental weather conditions including heat, cold and rain.

+ Position requires occasional repetitive bending/stooping, working at heights and using portable ladders to access water towers and perform inspection work.

+ The position requires wearing associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to gloves, safety glasses/goggles, face shield, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, and fall protection.

Preferred Requirements

+ Previous experience performing roof and masonry inspections, maintaining inspection logs, and/or taking work activity pictures.

+ Construction background experience a plus.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $23.00/hour - $32.00/hour.
