Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. This is a part-time, student employment position with no benefits. This student employee will provide support to STEM Starter Academy staff during recruitment programming/events.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

* Represent MassBay as a student representative and speak about your experiences with the college/STEM Division at internal and external events;
* Recruit new students to our STEM programs at MassBay, specifically focusing on high school juniors/seniors and adult learners;
* Staff outreach team of phone callers to recruit new STEM students for the summer program;
* Assist with record-keeping for the grant by summarizing events and reporting on the number of attendees;
* Assist Project Coordinator with general administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications:

* MassBay STEM student with a GPA of 2.8 or higher;
* Consistent and reliable work habits;
* Ability to work independently;
* Ability to work with diverse populations;
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
* No prior experience necessary.



Preferred Qualifications:

* Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;
* Experience working in a diverse environment;
* Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students.



Additional Information:

Salary Range: $19 per hour

Position Type: Student Employee
