* Answers the telephone, name & department, directs all calls appropriately, takes an accurate message and delivers to the appropriate individual
* Communicates any problems, concerns or issues promptly to the nurse
* Performs routine duties for electronic monitoring of patients
* Initiates and discontinues telemetry on the central station monitors
* Notify unit for faulty leads and battery function
* For ED monitoring, documents rhythm strips at the beginning of each shift and for any changes PRN, utilizing the ED Shift Report Tool
* Interprets the monitored rhythm
* Notifies nursing staff immediately of any significant or emergent rate/rhythm and documents strips and enters occurrence into ED Tracking Tool

Minimum Requirements

* BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
* Office/Clerical experience in a medical setting
* Patient care experience preferred
* Knowledge of medical terminology, as well as good computer proficiency, with excellent customer service and communication skills
* Detail oriented and possesses multi-tasking skills
* Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods with the ability to lift, push and pull
