Required/Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 years related experience
- Excellent financial management and budgeting skills
- Demonstrated technology knowledge to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google, Infinite Campus, Skyward and other software
- Positive representation of Oak Grove Middle School to internal and external customers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgement
- Proven excellent composition, grammar, and word processing skills
- Works independently with minimal supervision
- Communicate with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships
Responsibilities:
The principal's secretary, under the supervision of the principal, shall be responsible for:
- Managing the Main Office at Oak Grove Middle School
- Managing projects ensuring appropriate prioritizing, planning, communication, and use of resources for timely and effective results
- Analyzing emergency situations and facilitating appropriate contact to ensure safety, communication, and resolution
- Evaluating phone calls and drop-in visits made to the principal, personally answering questions or solving problems as appropriate
- Independently performing administrative functions and supporting the confidential activities of the principal
- Establishing clerical job priorities
- Tracking and monitoring budget expenditures and balances for the school budget: Processing orders, Paying invoices
- The general and capital budget accounts bookkeeping and all related work, including collection of field trip monies, music user fees, and processing activities related to ordering and delivery of goods.
- Processing employee authorizations, temporary assignments, and time sheets
- Processing staff requests for leave, absence, convention attendance, etc.
- Preparing various reports
- Key distribution and inventory
- Managing our frontline system and communicating with teacher subs
- Other duties as assigned
