Summary

Kid Angles is looking for a Co-Lead Teacher who can work in collaboration with others to preform daily duties and task effectively for a toddler classroom. Teaching team will work together to provide high quality care, nurturing learning environments, and stimulating activities throughout the day in a play-based, Reggio Emilia inspired facility. Kid Angles is committed to the families and community in which we serve by continuing to reach for higher quality education for young children through professional development and participation of cohorts and pilot programs; therefore, this candidate needs to be equally committed to those same values.

Working Hours: 8:30-5:30 Monday-Friday with one hour, unpaid, lunch break.

Duties

Job Duties include, but are not limited to...
  • Treat all children with dignity and respect
  • Model communication and mediate conflict resolution at child's level
  • Plan and prepare the learning environment to best serve the children within the classroom
  • Observe, record, and report behavior of children and their development
  • Maintain progress of records/ portfolios of each child's growth and development
  • Participate in professional organizations that work for the improvement of early childhood education
  • Attend school functions
  • Work in collaboration with families to promote understanding of their child's growth and development; encourage parent participation within the school community
  • Supervise the classroom at all times
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with children, families, and co-workers
  • Delegate task and communicate instruction to support staff
  • General Housekeeping task such as but not limited to, decluttering, sanitizing/disinfecting, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping/mopping floors, etc.
  • Changing diapers every 2 hours OR as needed
  • Serving/cleaning up meals
  • Cleaning/ Sanitizing classroom materials
  • Ability to sit down/ get up from the floor with children
  • Willingness to sing, dance, read, and engage with children
  • Observe and document children's learning / milestones
  • Effectively use observations to assist in creating lesson plans based on children's needs / interests


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • CDA / Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Background Check
  • Physical
  • Drug Test
  • TB Test
  • 30 Hours of training annually
  • 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare home / center setting

-Previous experience using a Childcare Management Software (Brightwheel)
-Knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach
