Role Description
Form Energy is hiring a Senior Reliability Technician on the Physics of Failure team to conduct internal testing that will be critical to making our products more robust and reliable. As part of the Reliability team, you will work with engineers to develop novel techniques and conduct battery module teardowns in order to facilitate failure analysis.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to make a significant and daily impact on a cutting-edge battery technology that will revolutionize the electric grid and bring major improvements to grid reliability and sustainability.
This role will require hands-on work in the lab and ability to collaborate with a cross functional team to ensure high quality testing and results.
What you'll do:
* Develop novel methods and tooling to conduct failure analysis, responding to quickly evolving needs.
* Work hands-on (manual drill, hand-held power tools, 3D printers, etc.) to conduct cell tear-downs critical to failure analysis.
* Facilitate installation and assembly of equipment.
* Maintain lab equipment, and be a champion of safety.
What you'll bring:
* 5+ years experience as an engineering technician or in a hands on role
* Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
* Experience using and maintaining tools and lab instruments
* Experience fabricating and assembling fixtures and on-offs for engineering
* Experience working with batteries or battery electrodes is highly desirable, but not required
* Comfortable working with chemicals and wearing PPE
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Comfort using Gsuite tools (Gmail, Google Docs, etc.)
* A positive get-it-done attitude
