Position Description

POSITION TITLE: Secretary

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Two years of postsecondary study, or an Associate's Degree or higher
  2. Computer experience and accuracy with word processing and a high level of proficiency in keyboarding
  3. Possess a working knowledge of common office equipment and office procedures
  4. Well versed in oral and written communication
  5. Possess a high level of interpersonal skills


REPORTS TO: Principal or Administrator

PURPOSE: To enhance student achievement by assisting Principal or Department Administrator with daily clerical work.

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
  1. Maintaining a high level of ethical and professional behavior and confidentiality with regard to student matters and all other confidential school business.
  2. Ensuring that all correspondence and documents are prepared in a professional and timely manner.
  3. Typing and/or filing pertinent material as requested by administrator.
  4. Performing general/building specific clerical tasks.
  5. Greeting visitors in a friendly and helpful manner.
  6. Perform any other relevant secretarial task that may be assigned by the Principal.
  7. Providing a safe environment for students.
  8. Supporting students in nonacademic areas.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND EVALUATION:Wages, length or work day/week/year, terms of employment and evaluations will be in accordance with the provisions of the negotiated contract.
