Transportation Scheduling Coordinator, AM, TransBusDev

Description

* monitoring, facilitating and managing all inbound receiving appointment scheduling for Publix warehouses and manufacturing plants based on their individual physical and operational constraints in order to efficiently align carrier deliveries with our receiving capabilities,
* receiving, processing, and confirming delivery appointments for all Publix receiving warehouses and manufacturing facilities using TMS, Publix Appointment Scheduling System (PASS) and Outlook
* optimizing Publix labor and maximizing dock utilization in our facilities
* managing appointments scheduled through our Transportation Management System (TMS) system as well as those that are made through other manual means.
* responding timely and providing informative communication to Corporate Purchasing, Distribution facilities, carriers, and suppliers
* reviewing warehouse slot capacity to maintain requested balance and
* assisting the Transportation Tracking Coordinators

Required Qualifications

* have one year experience working in Distribution, Transportation or an analytical field
* be able to work flexible hours and be available on weekends
* be able to work extended periods of time
* be able to successfully complete battery of Clerical & Microsoft Skills Tests (before his or her start date in the position)
* be able to handle change on a regular basis
* be able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner
* be able to multitask
* be able to work well in a team environment
* have analytical skills
* have computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word
* have decision making skills
* have organizational skills
* have problem solving skills
* have researching skills
* have time management skills
* have verbal and written communication skills
* have knowledge of Industrial Operations safety rules and practices
* have knowledge of Publix Transportation Systems (TMS, Publix HOST, PASS)
* have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
* have knowledge of Publix receiving schedules
* have knowledge of the transportation industry and
* have knowledge of United States geography

Preferred Qualifications

* current Lakeland Distribution associate
* have an associate's degree in Business, Transportation or a related field or equivalent experience and
* have three years' experience working in Transportation
