Hilco Vision is searching for an experienced Payroll Manager to join the HR Team The Payroll Manager is responsible for processing multi-state payroll which includes ensuring accuracy and completion of timecards for hourly staff consisting of both temporary and permanent employees, PTO requests, deductions, terminations and new hires. The successful candidate must have strong knowledge of payroll tax law in all states where employees reside, opening accounts in any new states for new hires, and researching payroll tax law. This role will also be responsible for 401K submissions in compliance with company plan, and assistance with annual compliance audits.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum, Associate's degree paired with 5+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll (UKG experience preferred) with a deep understanding of payroll tax law
  • Ability to manage highly confidential information
  • Extremely detail oriented and can work through large amounts of numerical data meticulously to ensure accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, adept in working with employees at all levels and handling inquiries regarding pay from salaried and hourly employees
  • Deadline oriented with top notch time management skills
  • Willingness to jump in and assist with special projects, initiatives, or other assignments as needed
  • Strong Excel skills; pivot tables, vlookups etc.
  • Previous experience with UKG payroll, BI, and Power BI a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing, calculating and payment of weekly payrolls for both hourly and salary paid employees
  • Responsible for processing of monthly Pension payroll, submitting small UK payroll and approving fortnightly Australia payroll
  • Manage all payroll functions and maintain compliance with applicable policies, contracts, and State and Federal laws
  • Responsible for 401K submissions and reporting as well as assisting with the annual 401k audit
  • Continue to implement and enhance best-in-class payroll policies, procedures and internal control policies
  • Analyze and reconcile post-payroll reports and quarterly tax filings to identify discrepancies in order to resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Perform monthly payroll close duties, including the preparation of period-end accruals and weekly journal entries for all payroll and benefits, reconciliations of payroll registers to the general ledger, etc.
  • Responsible for the timely preparation and calculation of any special checks, i.e., termination pay or special bonuses
  • Be responsible for reconciling W-2 and 1099 forms to ensure accurate entry of all compensation and deduction transactions
  • Support Finance with weekly report requirements and special, ad-hoc projects
  • Participate in annual Worker's Compensation and Retirement Plan audits
  • Complete annual compliance reporting such as EEO-1 and MA HIRD
