Assistant Bookkeeper

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant Bookkeeper. As an Assistant Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for assisting with various financial tasks and ensuring accurate record-keeping. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the field of accounting and bookkeeping.
Duties:
- Assist with general ledger reconciliation and account reconciliation
- Perform double entry bookkeeping tasks
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records
- Handle accounts payable duties, including processing invoices and issuing payments
- Assist with journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Utilize accounting software to input and manage financial data
- Assist with financial report writing, including preparing balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Provide support to the Bookkeeper in day-to-day accounting operations
Requirements:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
- Strong knowledge of general ledger reconciliation, account reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping
- Familiarity with payroll processing and accounts payable procedures
- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., Quicken)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify discrepancies or errors
- Knowledge of GAAP and ability to ensure compliance with accounting principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Please note that this is not a remote position. The Assistant Bookkeeper will be required to work on-site at our office location.
