Position Summary
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that resident care is coordinated and managed in accordance with all applicable State and Federal regulations and in order to meet resident needs. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and management of clinical personnel.
Shift: 1st 7:00am-3:30pm
Job Description
Clinical support duties
Follow the current established standards of nursing practices and assist staff in implementation of practices.
Supervise and evaluate all direct and indirect resident care and initiate corrective action when necessary.
Follow, supervise and evaluate implementation of the residents’ rights program.
Maintain a professional, cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating essential information, responding to requests in timely manner, building rapport and participating in team problem solving methods.
Recognize changes in resident condition, weight discrepancies, medication errors, abnormal lab results etc and notify the appropriate physician and the primary physician.
Provide for orientation, in-service training, continuing education, and input for annual performance and competency reviews of clinical team members to ensure staff is competent to provide services and is prepared to provide optimal Resident care.
Communication with the DON regularly about changes in census and resident acuity as related to staffing.
Participate in meetings, staff meetings, department meetings, team meetings, briefings, in-services and other meetings as requested or as needed.
Adhere to the Facility’s Code of Conduct.
Create and maintain a professional atmosphere.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a current RN license with the State of Illinois
Must have a minimum of one year clinical experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
Proficient in PC skills including the Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
Excellent organization skills and critical thinking skills
Must have an Associate’s degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of State and Federal regulations.
