Job Summary

Battelle is seeking an entry-level Security Solutions Test Engineer. This position is located in Beavercreek / Dayton, OH.

Battelle’s Cyber team in Dayton, OH is looking for a Security Solutions Test Technician or Engineer I to join our multi-disciplinary team, bringing together the brightest minds ranging from Physics to Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. The team works to develop, evaluate, and test unique physical and embedded security solutions for our government. The successful candidate will enjoy hands-on lab work developing outside of the box experimental testing methods.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Battelle Cyber Trust and Assurance team working on state-of-the-art integrated circuit security solutions ranging from design, verification, and testing of electronic devices, integrated circuits, and embedded systems.
Identify and articulate the strengths and weaknesses of solutions, conclusions, and problem approaches during technical discussions.
Work with internal stakeholders to support the preparation of presentations and reports. May be called on to provide input, perform demonstrations, or present on assigned tasks during customer meetings.
Prioritize and complete assignments with mentoring from senior staff.

Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in one of the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Optics
Experience in semiconductor test and measurement techniques including electrical, optical, and/or structural characterization (ex. Oscilloscopes, power supplies, waveform generators, electrical lab test equipment, light microscopes, electron microscopes)
Hands on experience in sample preparation (i.e.- sectioning, polishing), tabletop/bench top/ free-space optics, and/or electron microscopy
Intellectual curiosity and a passion for science and technology
Must be a US Citizen and have an active Secret security clearance and be willing and able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with semiconductor and device physics, integrated circuits, and/or microelectronics hardware
Strong bench skills, including digital and analog circuit prototyping, application-specific test & measurement instrument design.
Experience in reverse engineering, verification and validation, and/or device processing for fabrication of integrated circuits
Experience designing, constructing, and operating custom test instrumentation.
Experience in tool maintenance and repairs
Familiarity with CAD (solidworks, autocad, Bentley)
Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or C# for engineering solutions
