Description

Job Summary: Supervise, control, interpret, and communicate the fiscal operations of the company. Supervise accounting personnel.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all aspects of accounting: billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue generation and various other related areas.
  2. Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  3. Systems and computer knowledge: automate/integrate interaction between disparate software systems. Chart flow and improve processes.
  4. Ability to identify inefficient processes and make necessary improvements.
  5. Assist with development and implementation of equipment module for construction division.
  6. Coordinate all audit activity.
  7. Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, & capital expenditures.
  8. Develop accurate, representative departmental allocations to facilitate divisional P&Ls.
  9. Maintain appropriate data history.
  10. Execute all month-end and year-end computer procedures.
  11. Responsible for managing organizational cash flow.
  12. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to the executive and management team.
  13. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  14. Help shape strengths or current department members, clarifying roles and responsibilities.
  15. SOP development for all accounting department employees with cross-training established.
  16. Experience implementing a new ERP system to maximize efficiencies and automation.
  17. Performs other related duties as required.


Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Five years accounting or finance experience, minimum of five years in public/corporate accounting, or any equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Thorough knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures which apply to accounting and financing, working knowledge of data processing and applications
  • Ability to formulate, initiate and administer policies and procedures for effective control
  • Ability to make independent judgements which h have highly significant impact on the company
  • Personal computer skills: Microsoft Office products (especially Excel & Word), as well as general financial and payroll software
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts
  • Excellent math calculation skills
  • Independence skills: a self-starter with the ability to work efficiently on their own
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, ability to multi-task
  • Ability to sit 90% of shift
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Team skills: a team player with the willingness to help others within the department, as well as within the company
  • Good attendance history
  • Knowledge of electrical industry
