Description
Job Summary: Supervise, control, interpret, and communicate the fiscal operations of the company. Supervise accounting personnel.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounting: billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue generation and various other related areas.
- Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Systems and computer knowledge: automate/integrate interaction between disparate software systems. Chart flow and improve processes.
- Ability to identify inefficient processes and make necessary improvements.
- Assist with development and implementation of equipment module for construction division.
- Coordinate all audit activity.
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, & capital expenditures.
- Develop accurate, representative departmental allocations to facilitate divisional P&Ls.
- Maintain appropriate data history.
- Execute all month-end and year-end computer procedures.
- Responsible for managing organizational cash flow.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to the executive and management team.
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Help shape strengths or current department members, clarifying roles and responsibilities.
- SOP development for all accounting department employees with cross-training established.
- Experience implementing a new ERP system to maximize efficiencies and automation.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- Five years accounting or finance experience, minimum of five years in public/corporate accounting, or any equivalent combination of education & experience
- Thorough knowledge of regulations, policies and procedures which apply to accounting and financing, working knowledge of data processing and applications
- Ability to formulate, initiate and administer policies and procedures for effective control
- Ability to make independent judgements which h have highly significant impact on the company
- Personal computer skills: Microsoft Office products (especially Excel & Word), as well as general financial and payroll software
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts
- Excellent math calculation skills
- Independence skills: a self-starter with the ability to work efficiently on their own
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, ability to multi-task
- Ability to sit 90% of shift
- CPA certification preferred
- Team skills: a team player with the willingness to help others within the department, as well as within the company
- Good attendance history
- Knowledge of electrical industry
