The Community Choice Financial® Family of Brands is seeking an Absence Management Specialist. This role is vital to providing the highest level of support and partnership to the entire organization.  As a subject matter you will assist our Team Member’s with navigating The Company’s Leave of Absence Policies, Disability, and Leave Related Accommodations.  As a subject matter expert on leave of absence, to include Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Pregnant Fairness Workers Act, American with Disabilities Act, military leave laws, and state-specific regulations, you will serve as critical support to Team Members by educating them on the documents needed to support their leave of absence and acting as a first point of contact for their related questions and regularly interact with our TPA throughout the lifecycle of their leave claims.  You will also assist Company supervisors to ensure understanding of leave policies to help prevent any discrimination, retaliation, or other compliance issues. 

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and administer leave requests including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), military leave laws including USERRA, state and local leave laws. (Including our Company Personal/Pandemic Leave). 
  • Administer accommodation leaves under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, and other state and local leave laws, including the management of the interactive process.
  • Communicate with all employees regarding eligibility, their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules, answering benefits-related questions, and researching resolution of claims while ensuring that confidentiality, federal, and state regulations are met.
  • Partner with HR Partners and management team in each area on any leave of absence cases that need attention.
  • Partner with Payroll Partners to ensure that employee paychecks are properly adjusted for leave and paid time off circumstances. 
  • Advise managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off.
  • Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
  • Perform biweekly, monthly, and quarterly audits.
  • Prepares metrics and reports for HR Leadership.
  • Prepares verbal and written communications related to approval and denials of leave of absences.   
  • Development of new and revised processes, procedures, and form templates related to leave of absences, as needed.
  • Physical demands for this position frequently include: the ability to remain in a stationary position, move about freely inside and occasionally outside of the office, and the operation of mechanical controls, such as a keyboard.
  • This is a full-time role that requires in-person attendance during normal business hours.  
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of human resources/benefits experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong professionalism in order to successfully interact with employees and management at all levels
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and be familiar with HIPAA and other regulations pertaining to confidential health information.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with employees, management, and vendors.
  • Strong time management, prioritizing, and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining project professionalism both internally and externally
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, HR, or related field
