Overview:
The Deputy Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing restaurant operations, either alongside or in the absence of the General Manager. This position requires sound judgment in daily management decisions while being accountable for upholding the Brand values and fostering a thriving environment. The focus is on cultivating a guest and employee-centric culture that consistently delivers exceptional service and food quality while ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee staffing levels; recruit and select employees that align with talent and job specifications.
- Train, develop, mentor, and assess employee performance; ensure comprehensive training systems are implemented and adhered to.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
- Identify and nurture internal candidates for management and leadership roles.
- Show respect and appreciation for employees, regularly recognizing and rewarding their contributions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
- Manage daily operations to achieve excellence in restaurant performance.
- Hold the team accountable for delivering outstanding guest service and food quality in line with brand standards and safety requirements.
- Continuously review practices and implement modifications to enhance the guest experience.
- Engage with guests and the community; address inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally to ensure positive outcomes.
- Maintain the brand's image by ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and high service standards within the restaurant.
- Collaborate with the restaurant manager to utilize management tools for analyzing operational and financial performance.
- Identify trends and develop action plans for improvement.
- Focus on long-term sales growth initiatives aimed at driving profitable results.
- Evaluate the cost/benefit impact of financial decisions and work to safeguard the brand.
- Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary goals.
The Deputy Manager will contribute to the company’s success by fostering an exceptional work environment through effective leadership, guidance, training, and development.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain on your feet and attentive for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. as necessary.
- Frequent use of hands and arms.
- Continuous bending, reaching, and twisting.
- Maintain a strong personal image and adhere to uniform standards.
