Excellent Opportunity for an MD, PA
or NP (w/Supervising Physician), 3 hours weekly, flexible schedule
no weekends and no hospital rounds
to work in the Granville County Detention Center medical unit
Our Medical Director provides a full range of on-site medical services for inmates, in addition to our on-site nurses working 12 hours a day to manage regular healthcare duties.
Southern Health Partners has well developed policies, procedures and practices based on 20+ years’ experience of jail services. SHP provides all on-site medical staffing in a safe, secure medical unit within the jail. The provider, who is an independent contractor, will monitor and provide oversight for provided medical services, on a flexible schedule, a couple of hours per week.
On-call responsibility to our Medical Staff will be needed. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider to provide primary care, work as part of a team with correctional and medical staff, all the while providing a valuable service. SHP provides a monthly payment and medical malpractice insurance coverage for your work services.
Duties:
- Visits the facility to review care, see patients, prescribes medication, general referrals for outside providers;
- Countersigns any orders or programs notes seen by medical staff;
- Supports standards of care and supervises care given by other professionals, providing instruction as needed;
- Keeps patient information confidential as required under privacy laws and regulations;
Requirements:
- Must have clear background for security clearance;
- Must have current licensure as required for job duties;
- Experience in Family Practice and/or Emergency Medicine is a plus.
