Entry-Level Substation Electrical EngineerJob SummaryPOWER Engineers is seeking an Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).ResponsibilitiesThe Entry-Level Substation Electrical Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department to produce a product consistent with POWER's mission statement and our culture. They are expected to support the department in achieving its goals of the department, maintain POWER's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork and meet the needs of our clients.Perform the detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations including, but not limited to:One-line diagramsSchematicsWiring diagramsSCADACommunicationsStation physical layoutsSections/ElevationsCable and conduit plans and detailsGround grid design and detailsFoundation plans and detailsStructural plans and detailsControl enclosure design and detailsLightning protection plansYard lighting plansBills of MaterialsSite visits Support QA/QC for deliverables to clientsLearn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designsOccasional travelRequired Education/ExperienceBSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power optionStrong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build onStrong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelLegally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorshipDesired Education/Experience3 months of relevant electrical engineering work experience; could be on an internship or co-op basisMinimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)Knowledge of electrical utility substations and familiarity with substation designEngineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
