This position is a temporary seasonal position during the upcoming tax season. The responsibilities include answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate associates, mail distribution, the flow of correspondence, tax return assembly, typing, scanning, filing, copying as well as additional clerical duties. The position also provides general office support to the partners, accountants, and other staff with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information and having direct contact with clients.

Essential Functions:
  • Answer telephones and direct the caller to the appropriate associate or voicemail.
  • Greet and direct visitors to the company in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner.
  • Receive, sort, and forward incoming mail.
  • Assist with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, scanning, and collating.
  • Type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents.
  • Copy and bind financial statements and compilations.
  • Type, log, print, assemble, and e-file various reports, statements, tax returns, and cover letters.

Qualifications, Requirements, Skills, and Attributes:
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Punctual.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to focus.
  • Computer literacy, specifically with Word and Excel.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • One year of related experience in a professional environment.

Work Environment:
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, scanners, and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a temporary, part-time position that would be scheduled for no more than 30 hours per week on average.
  • Regular office hours during tax season are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday work hours are required
  • There will be periods of increased workload and extra hours will be required, specifically during the peak of a busy season.
