Tennessee Family Solutions is looking to hire a Family Teacher (House Manager) Family Teacher applicants must have previous experience working with adults with intellectual/ developmental disabilities. 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensures proper operation of the home by implementation of the Teaching Family Model of care for adults with Developmental Disabilities and other diagnoses. 
  • Staffs and trains/management of staff- ensuring the home is properly staffed with trained employees.
  • Utilizes TFS Maintenance systems to report issues timely so that the internal and external home structure is maintained properly.
  • Coordinates all care and activities individually for each person supported; medical appointments, therapy appointments, family visits, community activities, annual appointments.
  • Responsible for managing the home budget as well as the budgets for each individual.  
  • Attends all required meetings; Focus, Hub, etc.
  • Communicates effectively with others.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all things related to individuals supported as well as staff.
  • Documents services as required and oversees that staff in doing so.
  • Supervises and trains staff to ensure proper operation of the Teaching Family Home.
  • Maintains compliance with various federal and state regulations, TFS’ adaptation of the Teaching-Family Model, and various TFS policies/procedures.
  • Behavior exhibits professional attitude, demeanor, and interpersonal skills required by position and company at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned. Ensure all documentation is current and up to date at all times.
  • Perform unannounced visits to homes at 3 times a month.
  • Consistent communication with conservators and timely communication in responding to emails.
  • Maintain staff overtime.
  • Maintain a healthy diet for individuals in the home.
