Job Overview

Position Summary

Compass Academy is in search of dedicated and nurturing individuals to join our Early Childhood Program as classroom teachers and assistants. The role involves supporting the delivery of high-quality early childhood education while ensuring a safe and clean learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Facilitate and guide educational activities for a group of young learners.
2. Oversee outdoor play, meal times, and rest periods to ensure children's safety and well-being.
3. Assist children in developing cognitive skills through engaging activities.
4. Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and prepare necessary educational resources, including songs, stories, and interactive materials.
5. Actively engage with children through reading, games, music, and imaginative play.
6. Maintain cleanliness after meals and activities, including washing dishes and toys.
7. Support the upkeep of the facility and grounds.
8. Help with meal preparation and serving.
9. Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and management.

Qualifications

1. Minimum age of 18 years.
2. Participation in an orientation program is required.
3. Completion of a specified number of in-service training hours annually.
4. Attendance at staff meetings and training events is mandatory.
5. Maintain a professional appearance.
6. Ability to move swiftly to ensure children's safety.
7. Capability to lift and carry children (up to 40 pounds).
8. Provide clear and appropriate communication while interacting with children and families.
9. Adhere to the center's behavior management policies consistently.
10. A Child Development Associates credential (CDA) is preferred, or a High School Diploma/GED with enrollment in a CDA program to be completed within one year, or enrollment in a program leading to an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Experience with infants and preschool-aged children is essential.
