Responsibilities for Residential Cost Manager:
  • Analyze construction documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.
  • Calculate the amount of materials needed for new home construction / renovations.
  • Prepare material & labor quotes based on current market costs.
  • Proactive follow-up with team members and management to assure completeness of estimate.
  • Collaborate, collect, and organize data provided by customers & management to provide detailed & accurate estimates.
  • Initiate agreements and negotiations with sub-contractors that will maximize value, quality, and delivery of products.
  • Manage bids from vendors / suppliers.
  • Regularly review actual versus estimated materials on completion of projects to assure accuracy.
  • Assist with securing applicable project permits.
  • Assist the production team with building client relationships while interfacing with the client for proposal and selections related items.
  • Meet with client to review “what to expect” and provide direction on how to best move through the design and finish selection process (along with designer)
  • Assist with developing internal and client reports, including project budgeting, cost reports, and project status reports.
  • Assist with supplier invoicing process.

Qualifications for Residential Cost Manager

Basic Qualifications:
  • Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials.
  • Skilled at budgeting and negotiating.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to track and manage selections for multiple projects.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Functions effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to create reports on costing data.
  • Proficient analytical and math skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of residential cost managing/estimating preferred.
  • Relevant costing and analysis experience is desired.
  • Experience with new home and residential construction required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and use company software program.

Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday

License/Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Driver's License (Required)
