PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Warehouse Equipment Operator position is to provide support to the supply chain by collecting, loading, shipping, and receiving warehouse products. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment, optimizing loading, and supporting other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the business. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate forklift or skid steer - load/unload trucks and move pallets/containers to the appropriate location.
  • Sort, trim, and separate various types of metals.
  • Transfer material from one container or area to another as required.
  • Determine different recoveries from the material.
  • Adhere to quality standards set forth by the company.
  • Collect, wrap and stage materials to be shipped for a particular order.
  • Inspect and perform maintenance of forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Identify safety hazards in the workplace.
  • Learn metal sorting criteria, perform product sampling, and perform basic math calculations.
  • Work in extreme weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable); Kevlar gloves, safety glasses, and leather skid-resistant work shoes/boots).
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 50-75 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
  • Knowledge of the various ferrous and non-ferrous metals is a plus.
  • Quick learner who can follow directions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Organized, consistent, and good at multitasking.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work.
