Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities.  Other duties may be assigned)
  • Daily correspondence and follow-ups via email, phone
  • Provide education, resources, and information to support at risk populations to improve health outcomes
  • Be a support system to those struggling with their mental health or other challenges
  • Ability to implement best practice alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention strategies, mental health prevention and promotion strategies, problem gambling strategies, and suicide prevention strategies
  • Work to spread awareness of public health issues by attending health fairs, meetings, etc.
  • Develop and share presentations for groups
  • Ability to plan and facilitate community prevention workshops, trainings, presentations, and classes
    • Maintain records on these events
    • Submit required reports on these events
  • Prepare and host activities to encourage healthy habits
  • Order and maintain program event supplies
  • Collaborate within agency departments and with community partners
  • Attend assigned agency, community, and state meetings
  • Maintain current knowledge of all prevention programs
    • Conduct individual and team research
    • Attend in-person and online trainings

Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Possession or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license 
  • Successful completion of background check 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain trainer credentials for community and school-based workshops
  • Experience working with various community groups, businesses, students, and social agencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook
  • Experience working with diverse populations and public speaking
