Engineering Assistant/Project Controller
The Dyer Partnership is looking for an experienced Engineering Assistant/Project Controller to join our Coos Bay office. Preferred applicants would have consulting experience with municipal civil engineering design, bidding, and construction management of municipal projects. The position will require someone who is well versed in the civil engineering field, with the ability to assist on numerous projects, in a fast-paced environment, assisting management with a wide variety of tasks required for engineering and construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist upper management, project managers, and engineers with miscellaneous tasks associated with municipal engineering projects.
  • Assist with and prepare engineering proposals.
  • Review and assist with the development of contracts and task orders. Monitor and track the progress of contracts, task orders, budgets, and schedules.
  • Assist in the development of bidding documents including front ends, bidding documents, bid opening documents, and construction management documents.
  • Prepare and manage online bidding documents (www.questcdn.com) for online bid openings.
  • Prepare and distribute contract documents, addendums, and other documentation - electronic and physical.
  • Coordinate with funding agencies and provide the required or requested documents to ensure the lender’s funding requirements are met.
  • Track and file submittals and construction documents, and keep updated construction document logs.
  • Organize and prioritize work assignments to complete assignments and tasks on time and with quality.
  • Format and proofread documents as requested. Strong technical writing skills are required.
  • Maintain accuracy and quality in work.
  • Answer phone calls and assist clients.

The position requires a self-motivated, talented, dependable, detail-oriented, dedicated Engineering Assistant/Project Controller who is able to multitask in an office environment that promotes both personal and professional development. The ideal applicant must be able to handle multiple demands, and rapidly changing priorities, and work both independently or in a team environment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science (Engineering preferred).
  • Strong Technical Writing Skills, detail orientated.
  • Experience with municipal projects related to civil and environmental engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the civil and municipal engineering field.
  • Fluid in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
