Registered Nurse - $35-$38/hour, Full-Time and/or Part-Time

Job Summary:
Responsible for the delivery of skilled nursing care and supportive services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, within the scope of the nurse’s education and experience, under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse/Director of Operations and in compliance with Residential Concepts, Inc. standards and local, state and federal laws.

Supervises Direct Support Professionals.

Full-time status, 40 hours, Monday - Friday, day shift work schedule. If Part-time status, up to 30 hours per week.

Simple IRA after 1 year
Health Insurance after 90 days (contribution paid by RCI)

Qualifications:
  • Maintain a valid registered nurse license in good standing issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Pass pre-employment BCII civilian and/or FBI background check, Abuser Registry check, Driver’s abstract, Nursing Registry check, Exclusions, Sex Offender, US SAM & Incarcerated Offenders Databases.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio.
  • Maintain certification in CPR. 
  • Possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Possess knowledge of nursing procedures and practices.

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in developing and implementing a realistic, goal-oriented plan of care.
  • Participate in on-going client assessment, including individual response to treatment.
  • Document skilled care on clinical progress notes according to company policy.
  • Inform appropriate staff of individual health information with confidentiality.
  • Prepare and maintain individual health records.
  • Provide medical care to individuals and staff who have suffered injury or emergency illness.
  • Administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures.
  • Administer medications as required per physician’s orders.
  • Make referrals for individuals in need of medical and/or dental care.
  • Ensure clinic is safe, sanitary and adequately supplied.
  • Advise staff on modifications to educational programs to meet the health needs of the individual.
  • Provide required health training to staff members. Includes CPR/FA Training and Medication Administration Training.
  • Attend to the physical needs of individuals as necessary (e.g., assist with feeding, toileting, changing soiled clothing, mobility, illness, etc.).
  • Lift, position, and move individuals in a safe manner using proper lifting techniques and body mechanics.
  • Maintain a regular, punctual, and consistent work schedule.
  • Provide all documentation to the office in a timely manner.
  • Provide appropriate health care teaching, including self-care techniques.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Carry out assignments according to policies and procedures of Residential Concepts, Inc. and in a manner that reflects appropriate company standards.
  • Perform nursing treatments and procedures, prepare and administer medications, and follow aseptic technique/universal precautions.
  • Willingly accept direction from RN/Director of Operations or Program Administrator.
  • Keep RN/Director of Operations informed of individual response to care and individual’s health status.
  • Adhere to established personnel policies.
  • Prepare clinical and progress notes documenting outcomes and interventions.
  • Carry out plan of care.
  • Prepare equipment and materials for treatment adhering to aseptic technique as required.
  • Ensure timely communication of information to appropriate team members including families and guardians.
  • Ensure all care is provided with respect for individual rights.
  • Report all grievances and complaints made by individuals, families, staff, or providers to appropriate persons.
  • Report all allegations of abuse and/or neglect to administration.
  • Follow standard precautions and infection control procedures.
  • Report all accidents and incidents.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Educate staff in clinical aspects as needed.
  • Attend/participate in seminars, in-services and meetings as required.
  • Participate in orientation of new staff as required.
  • Review medical treatment and medication administration records on a daily basis.
  • Complete medication administration skills checklists for all shifts.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate appropriate medical training / in-services for staff.
  • Prepare monthly medications, MARs, and TARs.
  • Fill prescriptions at pharmacy and distribute medications to homes.
  • Complete nursing assessments for new medications and changes in medical status.
  • Collaborate with all service providers furnishing contract services to the individuals.
  • Participate in developing and updating policies and procedures as requested.
  • Maintain proper documentation.
  • Manage time efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain clinical competency.
  • Accompany individuals to medical, dental, or procedural appointments in company van.
  • Adhere to policy of a Drug-Free and Smoke-Free Workplace.
  • Adhere to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
