Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled Network Support Technician to join our team at Nexus Wifi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our network infrastructure. This role will play a critical part in maintaining the seamless operation of our wireless networks and delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain wireless networking equipment, including routers, switches, access points, and other network devices.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and reliability of network infrastructure, including firmware updates, system patches, and hardware upgrades.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, identifying and resolving technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Conduct site surveys and assess network requirements to design and implement scalable wireless solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate network installations, upgrades, and expansions, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
  • Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, responding to inquiries and resolving issues related to network connectivity and performance.
  • Document network configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and support activities, maintaining accurate records to facilitate knowledge sharing and problem resolution.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in wireless networking, participating in training and professional development opportunities as needed.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures for network security, data privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to provide after-hours support and respond to network emergencies as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) preferred.
  • Proven experience in network support or a similar technical role, with a strong understanding of wireless networking principles and protocols.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting networking equipment from leading manufacturers (e.g., Cisco, Ubiquiti, Aruba).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools, such as SNMP, Wireshark, and Nagios.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage time efficiently.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay current with evolving technologies and industry best practices.
  • Experience in the telecommunications or technology industry is a plus.
